Kepa is a Basque surfer who left the WQS tour to pursue his dream of searching out and surfing perfect waves in remote locations, he filmed his adventures and found an audience. His trips have never been about producing web edits, however.
His solo adventures to coastlines all over the world, from Alaska and Antarctica to Peru and Angola, show the raw and honest realities not just of what is possible when you go looking for unique waves and experiences, but also what it takes.
Stuck in contests jerseys for years, Kepa finally decided not to follow the path of other pros on cracking the ASP Top 34. And that’s exactly when we saw Kepa at his purest. He has been awarded as “Adventurer of the Year”, sailed on a boat to the remote Antarctic, got lost in Africa, Indonesia and beyond, and we are pretty sure that you have seen a few of his epic videos.
At the end, he’s inspiring to us, as he’s a real Nomad who enjoy simple things, by getting lost in endless adventures. He shared so many experiences with locals people by getting help for a night time in exchange of his smile or his unknown surfing spots. That’s the way of life he chose, supported by his sponsors, he’s able to surf amazing waves and following the best swell around the world. At the end, he’s living his dreams and not dreaming his life, that’s why we love him. And we are fan of his contagious laugh too!!!
