NOMAD OF THE WEEK // TRAVIS BURKE

Traveling to remote locations, hiking for hours, hanging from a 500 foot bridge, living in a van for months on end and staying up all night to get a shot are all a regular part of Travis Burke’s life. He is an outdoor and adventure photographer who's worked with the biggest names in action sports.

28-year old Californian Travis Burke just spent the past year roadtripping around North America, taking some incredible photographs of everything from roadside wonders. He did all this in his grandmother's 1994 Dodge Ram, which he devoted just 3 months to convert and make road trip-ready. As a professional travel photographer, Burke has made a name for himself for his scenic landscape shots. He's also amassed a loyal following of over 200,000 fans on his Instagram account and website, all of whom are tagging along vicariously as he chronicles his adventures..

"It is now my own dream adventure-mobile, which allows me to work and travel full time, continuously photographing diverse locations. Work days range anywhere from spending countless hours on the computer editing photos to photographing the Milky Way Galaxy or backpacking in search of hidden waterfalls!"

Life on the road has its challenges. From flat tires to lack of hygenic facilities. But, life on the road is "ultimately rewarding" regardless of the hiccups.

Travis Burke’s diverse and creative approach to outdoor adventure photography stems from his own perspective on life. His dedication to conquering anything thrown at him and living life with no regrets shines through in his photographs. Whether it’s highlining over a 400-foot canyon, backpacking the entire John Muir Trail or capturing the Milky Way Galaxy in remote locations, Travis is constantly pushing himself and the boundaries of his craft.

Watch this video and take some notes, he's giving a bunch of good advices for making your own house on wheels to live free on the open-road.
