Cyrus Sutton is a young american director and professional surfer, who grown up in Southern California and divided his time between the coast and mountains. Growing up near the ocean and practising water sports, he wanted to use cinematography to document the surf culture around him and on his travels.
He started to have a taste of traveling around the world as a pro surfer, then as filmmaker with his first project « Riding Waves ». Since, he worked for a few Outdoor Brands, as Poler, Go Pro and Patagonia, for directing commercials and web videos. After that, he decided to found his own media channel named Korduroy.tv. Now, he’s documenting people and issues that affect the health of our planet and resiliency of our communities.
After having filmed people’s outdoor adventures, he featured himself and his own trips. He moved to another lifestyle by building his Campervan in order to combine better his work and his life on the open-road. He began construction by himself on this new home on wheels, a large Mercedes Sprinter van, making the whole thing from the start to the end. Once finished, he enjoyed severals surf trips on his way to meet his anger of exploring new territories with his version of happiness and freedom.
After 10 years of Van lifestyle, he lived lots of adventures, shared experiences with others travelers and build strong memories.
Lately, as the weather was getting cold in California and the waves weren’t very good, his girlfriend Anna and he drove east into the deserts of the Southwestern USA.
He uses to travel a lot to foreign countries but never explored much into this part of America. They found some amazing places that’s inspired them to keep searching. Check out his video « A big backyard » to discover this talented artist and follow their wild steps.
