NOMAD OF THE WEEK // PROFILE - MATHIEU LE LAY // FILM DIRECTOR AND CINEMATOGRAPHER INSPIRED BY NATUR

mathieu le lay_ french film maker_profile by kampes nomads

Mathieu’s passion for cinema and nature guided him to perform a year of study at the French wildlife film school, after he graduated in wildlife conservation at Salford University (UK).

He expresses his creativity through wilderness and wanderlust. He made his life as simple as he could, in order to enjoy essential things. Natural elements and wild environment brought him personal fulfillment and self-realization.

Since 2008, he is directing films to tell stories about his fascination for strong relationships between man and wild environment.

The documentary film genre allows him to stage his characters playing at their own role, adopting a more intimate approach when filming on the field.

He also looks for personal aesthetics and evocative atmosphere in his visual style and

cinematography.

Mathieu found his way of life to combine both his professional life and his devouring desire toward mother nature. He found his stillness right there, on the peak of a mountain, around this crystal clear lake or across this dense forest.

He doesn’t try to be the best in his field, but just expressing and sharing his singular vision with whoever wants. And WE WANT IT, again and again!

Check out his portfolio including films and photos.
